Considering Abortion?

Some women are particularly sensitive to the spiritual side of their life, and struggle with the reality of an unplanned pregnancy. God is very clear in the Bible about his thoughts on the unborn child. God will help you during this time. Take a leap of faith and say, "OK God. I don't know how I can do this, but I'll trust you to come into my life and take charge." Try it and see what happens. You'll experience a freedom and peace that you've never known before.

Below are some of His thoughts to help you make a decision that you can be happy with years later.

Why should we value life?

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.
Acts 17: 26

Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Psalm 100: 3

For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
Colossians 1: 16

Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Isaiah 64:8

Who is the Creator of the unborn?

Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?
Job 31: 15

Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese, clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.
Job 10: 8-12

How is God concerned with the unborn?

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139: 13-16

…Before I was born, the Lord called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name.
Isaiah 49:1

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
Jeremiah 1: 5

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
Isaiah 49: 16

Who is responsible for life and death?

The Lord brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up.
1 Samuel 2:6

And God spoke all these words:..."You shall not murder."
Exodus 20: 1, 13

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.'"

Jesus replied, "'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Matthew 19: 18

Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5: 19

Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.
Genesis 9:6

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.
Deuteronomy 30: 19

Is man permitted to take life before birth?

"If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise."
Exodus 21: 22-25

Should a child conceived as a result of rape or incest be aborted?

Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Should a child who might be born deformed or retarded be aborted?

The Lord said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord?"
Exodus 4: 11

"Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?' Does your work say, 'He has no hands'? Woe to him who says to his father, 'What have you begotten?' or to his mother, 'What have you brought to birth?' "This is what the Lord says-the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands?"
Isaiah 45: 9-11

But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who form it, 'Why did you make me like this?'"

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
